Numbers...can't tell the story
*18,000+ Miles traveled in 2019.
* 32+ States and 2 Countries.
*80+ hours of travel each month.
*75+ hours of teaching.
*890+ people fed and challenged while attending “Into the Buddhist Mind” cultural event.
But it’s what’s behind these numbers that excite us! The often unmeasurable and deep inner work God does in the hearts and lives of His people. The shifting of world-views and values that redirect minds and lives. Those things make these many miles worth it.
Because… 2,600,000,000 This number represents unreached people. People without access to Gods Word or within the reach of local believers. Do our efforts make a difference? Sure doesn’t seem like our efforts will impact this number. But nor did a kids lunch box with a couple loaves and some fish seem relevant in meeting the needs of 5000 hungry people. Would it have made a difference if it was 3 loaves and 2 fish, or 1 loaf and 2 fish? No. In the same way, we have offered these lives to be used and multiplied in his hands.
287,000 miles…and being retired. A few years ago, our son gifted us with his car… a 2008 Toyota Highlander. It has served us very well as a reliable and comfortable car thru these years. Because of the generous gifts and kindness of several supporters, we picked up a 2018 Toyota Highlander in Reno, NV. Since we were already scheduled to speak in Southern California, swinging through Reno Nevada didn’t seem so far fetched. On the way, we were able to visit Lake Tahoe! God’s handiwork is amazingly beautiful. Thank you to all who gave generously to meet this need. We love our new ride! It is very comfortable as this serves as our second home most months.
Here are just a few pictures of life. Wether here or abroad, God has given us a love for his people and passion to see the others reached with the one who offers life and freedom. Many hours are spent listening, praying, teaching and caring for His people. We love it! But it’s not just a one way street. Many invest and care for us. Please continue to pray for us. We are ordinary people with fears, weaknesses, and insecurities.
We want to thank each and everyone of you who are part of the team. We only wish you could come along and join the invigorating conversations, the wonderful hospitality, and witness the work of God. The body of Christ is such a wonderful thing. Gods perfect answer to care for and equip each member. Thanks again for being His extension into our lives.
With much appreciation. Dave & Laura
